Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Crisis Ministry

    39 Credit Hours
    2 Years (Average)

    Prerequisites: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

The Master of Arts in Pastoral Care and Crisis Ministry degree is designed to provide advanced preparation for pastors, chaplains, Christian counselors, ministry leaders, and other caregivers who minister to individuals and families experiencing crisis, trauma, grief, addiction, relational difficulties, and emotional distress.

The program integrates biblical principles, Christian counseling, pastoral care, crisis response, ethics, and practical ministry. Students will examine many of the personal, relational, and spiritual concerns commonly encountered in churches, chaplaincy ministries, hospitals, hospices, correctional institutions, and community organizations.

The program will equip students to provide compassionate and biblically grounded care while recognizing the responsibilities and limitations of pastoral counseling, the importance of ethical boundaries, and when referral to a licensed mental-health, medical, or other qualified professional is appropriate.
